Cold temps, snow, and ice! Hopefully, you are enjoying some much needed rest, relaxation, reading a great book, or enjoying family. My 7th grader is surely enjoying the days away from school!Earlier today, I was chatting with a colleague and she mentioned feeling her energy and momentum decrease, as it relates to her 2018 goals. We are in the middle of January and sometimes your goals or resolutions may experience a shift...downward. Are you experiencing a loss in momentum? Of course, we all were extra excited about the New Year approaching, but we have to continue the momentum day after day. If you are trying to lose 15 pounds, you have to work at it daily. Yes, you have to eat healthy. It is so easy to place goals on paper, but you have to constantly reflect and track your progress. Are your goals actionable and achievable? Small steps are key and should be reflected upon along the way. If not, you are setting yourself up to fail. NOTE: It is OK to slip up a little, but you MUST get back on track. Life happens.I am a strong encourager of self-motivation. Be true to yourself and expect greatness for your life. Take control of what you can do. If you didn't quite hit the mark for that day, try again the next day. The only way to stay focused on your goals is to complete everything you start. Now, this doesn't mean you forget about you. Self-Care is important. No matter how hectic or active your lifestyle may be, you have to spend some time with yourself. Spend time doing things you love. This is a short mid-week post, but wanted to share and motivate you to stay on track. Don't get distracted. Keep the momentum. You are worth it!Always SMILE...Sherill
