The 3 D's....
Happy Wednesday! When was the last time you gave everything you had to make something happen? Throughout life, we all should have goals and dreams we hope to make a reality. The truth be told, we often have major and minor setbacks along the way. Life happens. Our goals and dreams take a back seat or we just can't seem to break that chain on moving forward. My recent post this morning "Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try" is so true. You have to make the effort to try. Keep in mind that sometimes setbacks strengthens our faith to keep pushing.Fear is the death of so much opportunity. Avoiding the desire to try, will cripple your future. I've said this so many times, but it's true. Fear is the force behind our setbacks; preventing the first step in changing our lives. I have to remind myself daily, to speak fear out of every circumstance or situation. I just may have a blog post in store on FEAR in the near future. Just because you wasn't selected for the job position, doesn't mean there isn't a better job along the way. I know you was hoping that your first college of choice would accept you into their program, but look around, there are three other schools that offered you full tuition. Whatever the situation, you have to keep moving ahead. Here are the 3 D's to help you along the way:
- Driven (Goal Driven): Are you driven to make your goals or dreams a reality? Driven means you have a definite purpose in life, you do whatever it takes to meet that purpose. You are motivated by setting specific targets motivated by goals. You don't give up, but push forward despite setbacks. The opposite of driven is laziness. Being lazy stagnates your future. It brings you down and your spirit down to press forward.
- Determination: Determination makes you continue trying or achieving something that is difficult. I CAN and I WILL should be your daily reminder. No excuses. Determination occurs prior to goal attainment. If you do not have the desire to be determined, you will not succeed. Being determined, doesn't prevent you from enduring road blocks. In traffic, occasionally you will endure roadblocks along the way. It may cause you an extended delay, but you will reach your final destination. You determine your outcome for your life.
- Dedication: Dedication is your loyalty to being committed to your goal, purpose or task. Dedication and commitment turns dreams into a reality. If you have a goal to run a full marathon, you are committed to training and running daily to reach that goal of success. Whatever the task or goal at hand, you are willing to give a lot of time and energy, because it is important to you. Dedication leads to success. If you want to be successful, you have to put in a lot of time and effort. Extra-curricular activities will take a "back seat" to ensure you are dedicated to that purpose or goal.
