Fun, Outside Adventures

Hello, Smiling Faces!

It’s Officially Summer! Yes, we are in the midst of a pandemic and vacations for many are placed on hold. The in-house blues are real. A few weeks ago, I decided to break free…safely. Well…some outside air x 10 sufficed for me and a few friends. My bestie, Sonya is a nature guru! I decided to join her and a few friends for a weekend outside enjoying nature. It was Amazing!

Have you been kayaking or NAH?! It was a first for me! We started out early that Friday morning for Red River. Seventy acres in Adams, TN – Right outside of Clarksville, TN. It was a 7.8 mile river with a scenic route…full of trees, birds chirping, bugs, fish and snakes. YEAH… the snake part! WHOA! The turtles were also sunbathing. It was a beautiful, cool morning to experience a nice breeze down the lake. The sun was beaming, but the humidity was very low. I must admit, I was a little nervous at first. Soon after, I relaxed my nerves, enjoyed the experience and peaceful view. Our entire four hour experience included a lunch break, dance off and girl convo! There were safe locations on our route to dock on land. Your pace on the water is totally up to you, but you may want to be on land before dark.  I had a wonderful time and searching out my next kayaking adventure!

The following morning we started on our hike at Dunbar Cave State Park. It is a 144-acre area in Clarksville, TN. It was peaceful along the trails and we definitely got our heart rate up. It was a little rocky on the journey. In the midst of the weekend, we enjoyed some good eating, laughter and a suntan!

Like many, there were beach vacations planned, sports activities and festivals to attend. COVID-19 numbers are rising and I am not playing around. My mask and safety precautions are with me.  You don’t have to go far away to create some sunshine and a safe adventure! Be safe!

Have a wonderful week!

Always SMILE…
