The Pinnacle Mountain Experience
Welcome New Blog Followers!Happy Sunday! Hope you are having a great weekend! So, I will be turning 41 in nine days and wanted to master an item on my Bucket List....Rock Climbing! On yesterday, I made it happen! I climbed Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock, Arkansas!A trusted co-worker and friend, assisted me on this journey, throughout the entire experience. Exercise and a small meal plan adjustment started off my pre-journey. Boy, was I in for a challenge.....and also told, DO NOT LOOK BACK WHILE CLIMBING THE MOUNTAIN. To keep your balance you must keep moving. Often in life, we look back on our mistakes, setbacks, disappointments and ponder on the past, overthinking what we NOW cannot control. Looking back was going to cause me to lose focus and momentum. There were two entrances to the mountain top and surprisingly, I was headed up on the difficult side. There were ten levels to complete before arriving at the top of the mountain. After the first three levels, the task became difficult. ROCKS EVERYWHERE as I climbed the mountain. Maintaining balance and strength was key. Nothing to hold on to, but rocks, my faith and strength to maintain. I must admit; climbing up to level seven, fear was creeping in. I looked down, looked around and internally questioned what was I thinking!! I started to feel a little lightheaded. After many deep breaths and encouraging myself, I was back on track and determined to finish STRONG! When I reached the top of Pinnacle Mountain, I dropped a tear. While resting on the rocks, I looked up to the Sky and shouted...with a bottle of water! The scenery was beautiful. God's creation was awesome! I conquered the challenge before me! It wasn't easy, but I did not give up. I can conquer anything! Immediately, I wanted a good meal...a meal full of calories, cake and champagne. After realizing, how much I poured into this, I decided on a great salad with chicken at Samantha's Tap Room & Wood Grill. Yummy!!What challenge are you giving up on?
