Protect Your Energy

Hello, Smiling Faces!

Happy Saturday!

Hope you are doing well. Wow! We are in the eighth week of quarantine. For many states, including Tennessee; restaurants and businesses are are starting to open up gradually,  in the Phase 1 Stage. For me, I am holding off a little while longer in participating. Especially, as it relates to inside restaurant dining and personal care services.  I am supporting small businesses and volunteering safely during this time. Family time, reading, journaling and self-care are important…including exercise. I need it for my mental health!

This season of COVID-19, is bringing to light many things; as well as finding ways to master my mindset and protecting my energy. My prayers and thoughts to those that are experiencing grief, passing of loved ones, job loss and pain. I’m quickly learning to embrace the stillness and enjoying the small moments.  Less is truly more and experiencing this in a positive way. I can’t believe I will be celebrating 5 years in business soon! I am in the midst of business rebranding, including my website and excited to share some things soon!

What positive changes are you embracing? Protecting your energy is so crucial. There are so many changes and developments we have experienced over the last few months. It’s overwhelming.  You are probably wondering, “How do I protect my energy from negative things,  people and situations?” Keep in mind, that it may not always be people; but what you invite into your personal space,  like the news or social media. This will have a negative impact, just as you experience someone with positive energy. We should be aware of the negative triggers. It could be your co-worker, a family member, friend, or environment. If you are invited to a drama-filled environment, politely decline. Why subject yourself to a negative environment? When we are negatively impacted by someone else’s energy, we often lose our internal connection. Our emotions rise and we begin to feel anxiety or energy deprived. STOP IT. Take back your control and breathe.

Here are a few ways to protect your energy:

1. It’s okay to say no. You do not have to explain why, simply say no.

2. Be true to who you are.

3. Give yourself permission to set boundaries.

4. Release negative ties to others.

5. Be Intentional.

You cannot always control what happens to you, but you can control how you respond.

Be safe!

Always SMILE…

This is spot on! You’ve just put into words what I’ve been practicing all along. This is so true. We are the captain of our ship, and we cannot allow others try to sink it. Thanks for the good word my friend.

    Stay safe,

    Brenda Walker
