Hello, Smiling Faces!
Happy Man Monday! It’s the beginning of a new work week. Have you checked your Self-Esteem level lately? I know this is talked about heavily with women and youth, but it’s just as important for men.
From self-compassion, self-confidence, self-acceptance and self-love it’s important to understand how we view ourselves. Having a sense of self-worth means that you value yourself and you are worthy. Self-esteem is what we think, feel and believe about ourselves. It’s a driving force behind our confidence. Women are viewed as been very “emotional” where men feel they have to be “stern” showing no emotions. This often leads to suppressing how you feel, which can affect your self-worth. It’s perfectly fine to show emotions and talk about your feelings. Self-esteem is something that needs to grow and be nurtured over time. Self-confidence, on the other hand, is more about how you feel about your abilities in different situations.
Are there certain situations that may be affecting your self-esteem? Dealing with challenging situations can alter and change your mood. What are the trigger points? Are you dealing with career concerns, relationships, weight concerns, or anxiety? Maybe it’s time to take a view of your lifestyle and make some needed changes. Too often we engage in activities or relationships that leave us feeling self-conscious, empty or terrible about ourselves. It’s time to focus on putting the time and effort on things that fuel your mind and spirit.
Whatever experiences you may have or currently going through, discover the root issue and seek out support. Spend time getting to know yourself. We all want to be accepted for who we are. But first, we must accept ourselves.
