School is out – Stay focused!

Welcome New Blog Followers!

Summer is here and school is out! I am sure this time of the year is fueled with excitement!! Vacations are underway!! No more homework, tests or late night projects for a couple of months…or longer. This is definitely, not the time to step back from learning. It is very important, to keep learning over the summer in rotation.

Learning can be fun, even if school is out of session. There are tons of learning and reading material in local stores, libraries and even on the Internet to remain engaged.

Below are a few tips to keep education at the forefront:

  1. Reading Is Important. I strongly encourage reading throughout the summer. Visit your local library for summer reading lists.
  2. Be Creative. Discover a summer project. Introduce different projects to your child.  This will allow for continued stimulation and creativity.
  3. Stay Active. Encourage outside activities versus indoor video games. It is very important to stay healthy and remain active. There are summer sports and activities to stay fit. Check your local listings and newspapers.
  4. Summer School Programs. Summer learning programs are great for improving academic outcomes and learning. If you or your child are struggling with a certain subject, seek out learning centers and programs.

Field trips, movie nights and cool treats are perfect for this time of the year. A year of hard work deserves a reward!

Always SMILE…
